Known as Britain’s finest infantry regiment, the 23rd fought in more actions during the American Revolutionary War than any other single-battalion regiment. The Royal Welsh Fusiliers - founded in 1689, evolved over the centuries through various royal designations and reforms, ultimately becoming the 23rd Regiment of Foot and later adopting their final regimental title in 1881.
