Providing highly trained, combat ready forces, the 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) successfully executed a broad spectrum of Special Forces missions including combat advisory assistance missions in the Republic of the Philippines, direct combat action against Al Qaeda and its recruited foreign fighters in Iraq, and direct combat action against the Taliban, Al Qaeda and other hostile forces in Afghanistan.
