Terry Waldron (b. 1959, Connecticut) is an artist working predominantly in oil and pastel. A professional portrait artist, she is best known for her highly realistic, traditionally rendered portraits of pets and people. Influenced by Rosa Bonheur and Sir Edwin Landseer, Waldron developed her style through years of classical training in portraiture and life drawing under the guidance of Cuban artist Vigues.
Waldron’s passion for animals is at the heart of her artistic vision. Her original works include classically styled dog and equine paintings, race horse legends such as Secretariat and others, and her celebrated War Dogs series; which have been collected across North America and Europe, with pieces displayed in the Pentagon and the Museum of the Dog in St. Louis. Recognized as a leading artist of U.S. Military Dogs, with works depicting WWI hero Sgt. Stubby and Vietnam War canine units. Her commissioned works are part of hundreds of private collections worldwide.
